ST-30004 introduces students to systematic theology from the perspective of the free evangelical tradition — a tradition rooted in pietist renewal, the Great Awakenings, and Alliance Christianity. Drawing on the WWES textbook Living Faith: A Free Evangelical Theology, the course moves from the foundations of theological method and the doctrine of God through the doctrines of creation, humanity, and redemption in Christ, to the nature and mission of the church and the Christian hope throughout.

Key Topics Covered:

  • The nature and task of theology; pietist, Awakening, and Alliance roots of free evangelicalism
  • Revelation, Scripture, inspiration, canon, hermeneutics, and theological method
  • The triune God, creation, the image-bearer, the fall, and the person and work of Christ
  • The Holy Spirit, justification, union with Christ, sanctification, and assurance
  • Ecclesiology, ordinances, ministry, the universal priesthood, mission, and eschatology

This course balances theological depth with practical ministry application, forming students to think faithfully, serve effectively, and worship more fully.
