CH-40002 Church History introduces students to the unfolding story of Christianity from the apostolic era to the modern evangelical movement. The course highlights decisive turning points, key leaders, and theological developments that shaped the global church and its mission. Students learn to connect past renewal movements with present ministry challenges.

  • Roots of the Church: Apostolic witness, persecution, creeds, and early councils
  • Medieval and Reformation Eras: Monastic renewal, scholasticism, Luther, Calvin, and global expansion
  • Revival and Mission: Pietism, Great Awakenings, modern missions, Pentecostal and evangelical renewal
  • Evangelical Identity: From Scripture and creed to reform, revival, and global mission
